Tony Abbott ‘Happy’ Slicing Up B1 & B2 In Parody Vid

The politically-minded animators who previously bought us the wonderfully disturbing Tony Abbott’s Wrecking Ball, have offered up another slice of charged animation featuring our Speedo-clad PM and set to Pharrell‘s hit tune Happy.

With Pharrell’s catchy beat in the background, the clip begins with recordings of Tony Abbott’s series of pre- election promises, which according to the PM include, “no cuts to education. No cuts to health. No change to pensions. No change to the GST. And no cuts to the ABC or SBS.”

We then see a hairy-chested animation of Abbott single handedly cutting down heritage forests, slicing the Bananas in Pajamas in two and basking joyously in a see of petrol-levy cash, hosed down on him by treasurer Joe Hockey.

Hockey isn’t the only other Liberal MP to star in the caricature video. Immigration minister Scott Morrison makes a noteworthy appearance, giving the proverbial finger to asylum seekers behind the fence of a detention centre. Julie Bishop’s in there repealing foreign aid, while a gleeful Christopher Pyne dances within the ruins of a public school dressed in uniform.

Coalition confidants Rupert Murdoch and a sluggish Gina Rinehart also make a cameo. The mining heiress is seen guarding a coal mine and ushering in aging workers, while a stoic Murdoch is shown shuffling away, marker in hand, having altered the Emergency room sign to now read like the News Limited buzz phrase, “Budget Emergency”.

The video has clocked up over 130,000 views in just a few short days.
