Metallica Will be “Great” at Glastonbury 2014, says Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger has given his support to unlikely Glastonbury 2014 headliners Metallica.

The Rolling Stones frontman, who recently returned to touring with the iconic band after the tragic death of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott, stated that he believed Metallica would put on a great show at the Worthy Farm festival.

Speaking to The Sun, Jagger said: “I’ve seen them live and they’re going to be great.” This is in stark contrast to the opinion of Arctic Monkeys’ frontman Alex Turner, who said that Metallica shouldn’t be headlining the festival at all

“I know we’d buzz off it,” Turner said, “but fundamentally could you have Metallica in the hippy nucleus?”

Regardless of both Jagger and Turner’s opinion, it’s undeniable that Metallica’s set will make history as they stand to become the first metal band to headline the festival in its 44-year history. Whether or not they are successful in doing so remains to be seen.
