Carl Froch to Earn £10 million from George Groves Fight

Carl Froch could stand to earn £10 million from his rematch against George Groves this Saturday (May 31st).

The fight, which will be the biggest in British boxing history, is set to generate over £20 million, with Froch expected to rake in half of its earnings. Groves is expected to make around £2 million from the bout.

Ticket sales for the Wembley Stadium event will bring in around £6 million, while Sky Sports Box Office will take in around £17 million in pay-per-view buys.

The WBA and IBF super-middleweight fight is set to be a tenacious affair, with Groves stating that he didn’t expect it to go past three rounds.

“Hang onto your seats because [Groves is] talking about a three round fight”, Froch said to Sky Sports. “That suits me down to the ground. Let him come out and try and do me in three rounds. He’s in trouble if he tries that. The sooner he tries to fight and mix with me, the sooner the fight is over in my favour.”

The weigh-in for the fight is set to take place on Friday, May 30th, at 4pm BST.
