Roy Hodsgon has revealed who he will be taking to the World Cup 2014 as part of his England team.
The following players have all been confirmed by the England coach:
Goalkeepers: Hart, Foster, Forster
Defenders: Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Jones, Smalling, Baines, Shaw
Midfielders: Gerrard, Lampard, Wilshere, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Sterling, Lallana, Barkley
Forwards: Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, Lambert
The following players have also been confirmed as being on stand-by:
Stand-by: Ruddy, Flanagan, Stones, Carrick, Cleverley, Carroll, Defoe
Speaking on whether or not he believes this England squad can win the World Cup, Hodgson replied: “Of course I believe this squad can win the World Cup. Otherwise what is the point of taking a squad there? This talented squad have to show their talent. We are right to have some optimism, there is a mood of positivity in the country. Whether that is enough to takes us to the Final, who knows?”
