David Luiz is set to move to Barcelona as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho plans to completely overhaul his squad.
According to reports, Luiz is on track to sign a five-year, £32 million contract with the Spanish giants, as Mourinho continues his bid to sign Athletico Madrid striker Diego Costa.
Barcelona has attempted to sign the defender before, but to no avail. However, now it seems the 27-year-old will be making his debut with the La Liga club next season, with an official announcement expected to be made after the World Cup 2014.
This is the second big piece of news regarding a Chelsea player of the day, after it was announced earlier that Ashley Cole, another Blues defender, would be retiring from international football. Read more about Cole’s retirement, and Roy Hodgson’s reaction, right here.
