The Arctic Monkeys popped into Triple J studios on Friday to perform a swoony cover of Australian psychedelic rock outfit Tame Impala’s ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’.
Currently running around Oz on their biggest headline tour to date, Arctic Monkeys paid tribute to Tame Impala sister band Pond, who are supporting the English four-pieces’ huge trip Down Under.
Indecently, it’s not the first time Arctic Monkeys have featured on the broadcaster’s ‘Like A Version’ segment- Chvrches dropped their own cover of ‘Do I Wanna Know?’ while in Australia last February.
The boys also featured on Crave earlier this week when American rockers The Orwells, fresh off an Arctic Monkeys supporting role, criticised the boys for their predictable and scripted performances.
The Arctic Monkeys hit Melbourne’s Rod Laver arena on Friday and will play a sold out Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Saturday and Perth Arena Tuesday before hitting in the UK, US and Europe for running dates through to early September.
