Another Veteran at Naughty Dog Has Left, This Time Director Justin Richmond

If you’re a fan of PlayStation, whether or not you recognize him you’ve been impacted by Justin Richmond in some way. He’s been a designer and director at Naughty Dog since 2008, having major impact on Uncharted 2‘s multiplayer design and the entirety of Uncharted 3.

Justin Richmond announced his departure from Naughty Dog today, sharing with IGN that he loved working at the company, but is now looking to move on.

He has already found a new home at Riot Games, the makers of the world’s most popular game: League of Legends.

His resignation comes just weeks after Uncharted writer Amy Hennig. It isn’t known what has triggered these major shifts, but Sony has been encouraging studios to ‘refocus‘.

There has been a lot of shake-up going on under Sony’s umbrella this month. Sony Santa Monica lost God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen and had a layoff of around 60 people. London Studio, Guerrilla Cambridge, and Evolution Studios saw similar cuts, with the latter losing Driveclub director Col Rodgers.
