Bethesda has announced what they call the Wolfenstein: The New Order Panzerhund Edition. For $100 you get 11 classified documents, an 8″ Panzerhund statue, a SteelBook with 14 postcards, 3 patches, and some dog tags all in some neatly put together boxes. Basically, everything you need to show your fans that you’re a Wolfenstein fanatic… except, well, a copy of the game. Yeah, you’ll have to buy that separately, as stated in big bold letters on the Bethesda Store.
If I had to guess I’d imagine this was Bethesda’s way of avoiding a $160 collector’s edition while still giving hardcore fans some cool extras to create an even larger mess of random branded items in their gaming room, but everyone buying it still has to fork over that much to get the collection with the game. Why not just consolidate the two? Beats me.
Whatever the case is, if you’re very excited Wolfenstein: The New Order and want to make sure all your friends know that, you can get the Collectors’ Edition for $160. Just remember to buy the merchandise on Bethesda’s Store and the game somewhere else.
