The line-up for the Ottawa Bluesfest, sponsored by RBC, is a mixed bag of artists, from Lady Gaga, Journey and Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion) to The Killers, Lady Antebellum, and The Band Perry.
While the Bluesfest website promises a confirmed full schedule in April, music fans of all varieties are abuzz about the ecclectic roster of performers. This year will mark the 20th year of the music event.
“Definitely with our 20th anniversary we wanted to make sure we had our bases covered,” said festival executive and artistic director Mark Monahan (Ottawa Sun). “My goal here was really to recognize that we have a unique event. A lot of festivals we go to (on scouting missions) through the year are centred around one weekend. Here we have a 10-day music festival in an urban setting, and we’re very conscious of the notion of programming relevant acts every night.”
