Animal Crossing: New Leaf Outsold The Last of Us

Animal Crossing: New Leaf drew huge sales numbers for Nintendo, the console manufacturer revealed at this week’s GDC conference.

The handheld title has sold 7.38 million copies worldwide, which means it has trumped other triple-A titles such as Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf was released in June 2013, which means that these numbers are incredibly positive given its relatively short amount of time on store shelves.

The 3DS was also the best-selling console of 2013. selling 11.5 million units in the United States, so despite Nintendo continuing to struggle with the Wii U, it is still completely dominating the handheld market.
