Triple J’s One Night Stand concert is returning in 2014 to a yet to be revealed regional Australian location.
The 10th annual One Night Stand, an appreciation gig featuring some of the country’s top musical acts, will feature guests Rufus, Violent Soho, Dan Sultan, rapper Illy and the Jungle Giants on May 17.
Last year’s One Night Stand was held in Dubbo and featured Flume, Seth Sentry and The Rubens while previous instalments have visited country locations including Collie, Alice Springs, Port Pirie and Sale and featured the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Art Vs Science, John Butler Trio, Silverchair, The Living End and Matt Corby.
Grunge rock outfit Violent Soho are coming off a huge 2013 in which their new album, Hungry Ghost, became one of the top Aussie releases of the year while Sydney electronic music trio RÜFÜS recently popped into Triple J studios where they dropped a cover of Foals’ ‘My Number’.
The influential radio broadcaster is asking for just a gold coin donation for One Night Stand, and if you’re nowhere nearby, don’t worry- they’ll be broadcasting the entire concert live.
