Xbox One Media Remote Coming Soon, Image and Price Leaked

One of the greatest selling points of the Xbox One is its ability to play cable television through its interface. But truthfully, navigating its robust TV Guide is a bit strange with a controller. We’ve been brought up with the mindset that TV remotes should be flat, candy-shaped bars that make no attempt to be ergonomic, qualities that the Xbox One Controller fails to qualify for.

Furthermore, Microsoft is planning to release a media remote for the Xbox One. It leaked onto Amazon Canada’s website along with an image. Before it was pulled from the site, a price of $24.99 Canadian, or $23~ U.S., price point was posted.

It’s all black, relatively small, and features buttons for all major TV inputs, including pause and play buttons if you have a DVR set up. If you prefer to use voice commands, the controller won’t stop you.

This leak comes shortly after the confirmation that an official Xbox One Stereo Headset and Headset Adapter will be released next month. Both have been heavily requested by Xbox One consumers since the console’s launch in November.

An official announcement should come shortly.
