Can you believe World of Warcraft is more than nine years of age? Truthfully, I don’t like to think about it much because it makes me feel old. On the plus side, during that length of time I’ve forged some unforgettable memories in its soul-devouring world. If you’ve played it, I’m sure you have, too.
During World of Warcraft‘s tenure it has celebrated some of the greatest achievements in online gaming history. At one point it boasted an impressive 12 million paying subscribers around the world. While its install base has dropped around 40% since that high note during Wrath of the Lich King, it has managed something that no other game has: 100 million players have played it at one point or another. That’s the equivalent of the entire population of South Korea doubled (we all know they’re too busy with StarCraft 2, though).
