Listen: The Hold Steady Return With ‘I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You’

Brooklyn dry-wit rockers The Hold Steady are plotting a strong return in 2014 with the release of their sixth LP Teeth Dreams, nearly four years after the band’s last full-length offering. This morning, Rolling Stone premiered the first single off the album, which you can hear below.

Recorded over the past two years in Brooklyn and Franklin, Tenn., the album is the first with longtime touring guitarist Steve Selvidge. “It was exciting again,” guitarist Tad Kubler told Rolling Stone. “There was a newness to this album that I hadn’t felt in awhile.”

Teeth Dreams is out on March 25th via Washington Square Records. Stream the first single “I Hope This Whole Thing Didn’t Frighten You” below:

Teeth Dreams will be followed later in 2014 by a covers EP, RAGS, which was funded by donations from fans and will released directly to them.
