PS4 Error is Corrupting Users’ Game Saves, Solution Found

A PS4 error is corrupting game saves, gamers on the PlayStation forum have said.

The ce-34878-0 error has reportedly corrupted saves on Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and NBA 2K14, while some have said that it won’t let them access any applications on the console whatsoever.

Some forum users said that they had attempted to uninstall and reinstall the affected games/applications, but to no avail. Others reported that disconnecting from the internet worked for them, or signing in to the console as a guest.

Fortunately, PlayStation Community Coordinator Ross ‘LordRoss’ Thoroughgood has offered a solution to the problem, saying: “If you are experiencing this ce-34878-0 error code, please close the application and then install the latest system software and game patch.

“If the error occurs again, initialise the PS4 system after back-up of the save data and please also submit any crash reports after re-booting your console when the error occurs.”
