From the deserts far to the east of Los Angeles, the churning rock cauldron of Vista Chino has arrived with their debut album Peace, driven by the ominously timeless vocals of John Garcia, the songwriting and production of drummer Brant Bjork and the riff-roaring framework of guitarist Bruno Fevery. Today, Vista Chino has teamed with CraveOnline for the first-ever video release from the new album, featuring the track “Sweet Remain”.
The rechristened outfit formerly known as Kyuss Lives, a new band born of a legendary past, have found a new life and passion in these Vista Chino songs. Released back in September, Peace delivers a grinding dose of desert-rock glory that pisses on gimmicks and sidesteps nostalgia for a new evolution.
Those cats pining away for the old Kyuss days will find themselves challenged to evolve through the entirety of Peace, particularly “Sweet Remain,” which takes the spine-crackingly awesome elements we first witnessed in “Gardenia,” “Green Machine” and beyond and brings them into a more current orbit.
The results are fucking unstoppable. See for yourself below, with the world premiere of Vista Chino’s first-ever music video, directed by Dale “Rage” Restehgini (Hatebreed, Sevendust, Trivium) . Check out “Sweet Remain” below, exclusively on CraveOnline!
Peace is available via Napalm Records and can be ordered on iTunes and Amazon.
Additionally, Vista Chino will be heading to Australia in early 2014 to take part in the Big Day Out festival. Dates can be found at the band’s official website. Also keep up with the band on Twitter and Facebook!
