Microsoft Sends Out Free Copies of Killer Instinct to Xbox Fans

If you’ve been a loyal fan of Xbox products, today Microsoft may reward you for your patronage.

A user on NeoGaf has received an e-mail from Microsoft which includes a full copy of Killer Instinct, an exclusive Xbox One title. While the game is free-to-play, the reward is an unlock code for the game’s 8 planned characters, which will cost $5 each or $20 for the complete pack once the game is out on November 22nd.

If you haven’t received a similar reward, Microsoft posted the following information on Twitter:

We considered a variety of things like Gamerscore, LIVE tenure, & other factors in markets where #XboxOne is available.

Killer Instinct is this holiday season’s premier fighting game. Exclusive to the Xbox One, it’s the first title from the series since 1996 when Killer Instinct 2 released in arcades. This time around it’s being developed by Double Helix Games instead of Rare, who have brought the series to next-gen with significantly improved visuals while retaining the violent demeanor of previous titles.
