Football Hooliganism Stats Revealed, Worst Fans Named & Shamed

Football hooliganism is on the rise, as some statistics have been revealed that give an insight into the UK’s worst fans.

2,456 arrests were made last season, with Newcastle fans topping the list with 175 of the club’s supporters being arrested on matchdays. Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea were among the other top-tier clubs whose fans were ranked as the most poorly behaved.

The arrests for violence doubled from 273 to 554, as did the arrests for racist chanting, which increased from 23 to 42.
