Justin Vernon To Headline Second Harvest 2013 Announcement

Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon announced on Australian radio station Triple J on Tuesday morning that his side project, Volcano Choir, will be part of the Harvest 2013 second lineup announcement.

The second half of the Harvest 2013 lineup was excepted to drop in the second week of November, but Vernon, in Australia for the release of Volcano Choir’s second studio album Repave, let the news spill on Triple J radio.

“The answer to your question is ‘yes’,” Vernon told presenter Zan Rowe on Tuesday. “We got a great offer to come down to Australia and play at the Harvest Festival, and I’m excited. It’s one of my favourite places to be and to play and I can’t wait to be here in November.”

Vernon visited Australia recently as part of Sydney’s VIVID Live (Kraftwerk, Empire of the Sun) a few months ago and said a few more trips Down Under could be on the cards in the near future.

“Maybe we’ll get there one more time in 2013 after November, who knows,” Vernon says. “Whenever I come I always spend extra time. I’m very at home there.”

Volcano Choir is the latest act to join Harvest headliners Massive Attack, Franz Ferdinand and Goldfrapp. Expect more names to come.

“It’s definitely our biggest 2nd announcement!” said Harvest promoter AJ Maddah back in July.

Other rumoured possible inclusions may include Tegan and Sara, Okkervil River and Bjork according to FasterLouder.
