Update: Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida has responded to inquiries by confirming that the PS4 will allow up to 4 controllers to be connected, which is 4 less than the Xbox One.
Original Story: Here’s some intriguing news: the Xbox One will support up to eight wireless controllers at once.
According to the Xbox One product page, players will be able to hook up eight controllers to one console, which each have a huge 30ft wireless range. Thus far there haven’t been any announcements for 8-player offline games, though personally I am hoping for the return of Kung Fu Chaos.
The Xbox One will launch with just one controller, with additional first-party controllers set to retail for around $59 when the console launches in November.
Sony has yet to reveal how many controllers the PlayStation 4 will support.
