New Video Game Releases: September 2nd to September 8th, 2013

After a half-year delay, Rayman Legends finally jumps onto store shelves on Tuesday. It’s no longer a Wii U exclusive, though. Instead, it’s releasing on every major platform offering just about everyone an opportunity to experience its wacky platforming fun. With social features included it’s one of the most promising Rayman titles yet.

For those looking for something a bit more epic the successor to 2004’s Rome: Total War is releasing. Titled Total War: Rome 2, it offers epic strategy during battles between thousands of units rich with historical accuracy, challenge, and the reward of winning a battle for your virtual country.

Blizzard Entertainment is also participating this week with its console release of Diablo 3. Based on the demo on the E3 2013 show floor, it is one of the most entertaining local multiplayer games of the entire generation. Choose a class, play with up to four players, destroy enemies, and collect legendary loot in classic Diablo fashion. With the removal of the controversial Auction House and rebalancing of loot, you might be surprised how it fares against its PC version.

There are also many indie titles including Outlast, one of the most frightening games you can play this year. If that’s too scary for you then maybe Disney Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse is right up your alley.
