Preparing For The Soundwave 2014 Announcement

The Soundwave 2014 lineup will be announced at the end of this week, the festival announced on Sunday.

“Lock it in folks. Soundwave 2014 Line up will be revealed Friday. As always, watch this space for more details as they come to hand,” appeared on official Soundwave Twitter feed.

The latest instalment of Soundwave is expected to carry a little over 60 acts, however promoter AJ Maddah said the strength of this year’s 10th anniversary monster tour; which featured Metallica, Slayer and Blink 182, probably won’t be matched again for a while.

“It was our 10th anniversary, so a 1 off big show,” Maddah tweeted back in March.

Nine Inch Nails are big rumoured-to-be headliners while other potential big acts could include Slash, Alter Bridge, Deftones, Alice In Chains and Papa Roach.

Metallica aren’t excepted to be making consecutive Soundwave appearances, but former drummer Jason Newsted and his new band are rumoured to be on their way Down Under.

His heavy metal outfi,t Newsted, told magazine May The Rock Be With You that they would be making their debut Australian performances at roughly the same time as Soundwave while Danish group Volbeat, American heavy metal band Godsmack, Crashdiet are alleged to be involved according to Tone Deaf.

Maddah announced Monday that one “seminal Aus ska band” wouldn’t be appearing thanks to a greedy individual managing the act.

Maddah’s full Twitter statement of the incident said, “A while ago I ran into a dear friend and lead singer of seminal Aus ska band. He was down in the dumps for personal reasons & I offered to put his band on SW, make a big deal of their comeback & offered a ridiculously large fee + costs + very high billing above their value. So a week ago I get contacted by some douche he sends to play hardball and “negotiate” w[ith] me! I go along w this nonsense for love of band. Then today I am informed, 4 days out from announcement & totally snowed under that they demand that I issue a contract immediately as said douche is going away for 5 weeks. Because my written offer & word may be good enough for the headliners bit not for Mr Douche. What the f***! No, really, what the f***! Oh well. So long and thanks for all the pork.”
