Gene Simmons of KISS fame and his Playmate girlfriend/wife/partner/whatever Shannon Tweed visited her hometown of St. John’s, Newfoundland recently, and during her trip she shot a cameo appearance for an upcoming episode of the popular home-grown drama “Republic of Doyle.” She joins a long list of actors, musicians and Canadian television personalities who have guest-starred on the program – in fact, rumours are swirling that Russell Crowe may even appear on the show while he’s visiting the province to shoot a movie in the coming weeks.

Shannon Tweed
“Playboy” Playmate of the Month in November 1981 and Playmate of the Year for 1982, Shannon Tweed is currently a part of the hit show “Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” which profiles the lives of Tweed, her long-time partner Gene, and their two kids Sophie and Nick.
Alan Doyle
Lead singer of the band Great Big Sea, Alan Doyle has appeared on “Republic of Doyle” a number of times and will be back in the upcoming season.
Gordon Pinsent
A regular on shows like “Babar and the Adventures of Badou” and “The Pillars of the Earth,” this Newfoundland and Labrador actor has made two appearances on “Republic Doyle.”

Scott Grimes
A Massachusetts native, Grimes’ more impressive resume entries include his role on “ER” as Dr. Archie Morris for a number of years as well as doing voice-work for “American Dad!” Allan Hawco, co-creator, co-producer and co-writer of “Republic of Doyle,” recently told St. John’s Telegram that he’ll be a guest star on a future episode.
Kevin Durand
