New Digimon Anime Announced With Release Date Window

Toei Animation has announced a new Digimon anime, titled Digimon Beatbreak, and revealed its release date window as well. Digimon is one of the most loved franchises among anime watchers. From starting as a series of virtual pets, it grew into manga, video games, anime, and movies. The most recent Digimon anime aired in 2023 and since then, fans have been waiting for an update on what lies next.

New anime, Digimon Beatbreak to air in October 2025

The new Digimon anime, ‘Digimon Beatbreak’ was announced by the official Digimon channel on YouTube.

In the 33-second teaser, the makers shared a glimpse at the new designs of Digimon, describing them as “Emotion-devouring Digital Lifeforms.” The clip ends with the silhouette of the main character and the release date which is October 2025.

After two years, Digimon will finally return to television screens. The last Digimon project was the movie, Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning, which came out in October 2023 in Japan. Before that, the 67-episode anime, Digimon Ghost Game, aired from October 2021 to March 2023.

On their official website, Toei Animation mentioned, “Production of a completely new TV animation, “DIGIMON BEATBREAK”, is underway!”

The studio also provided a brief introduction of Digimon, which read, “The game gained overwhelming support from children due to its innovative element of not only being able to raise monsters, but also to battle monsters with friends. The anime series began with “Digimon Adventure” in 1999 and has since produced nine TV series and eleven movies, enjoying support from a wide range of generations. Starting in October 2025, the new series “DIGIMON BEATBREAK”, the first in about two years, will begin airing.”

Digimon recently organized the Digimon Con 2025 to celebrate 25 years of the franchise. At the event, along with Digimon Beatbreak, some Digimon games were also announced.
