Spider-Man 4 Fans Think Black Cat Will Be Its Villain After New Rumor

As details about the highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 continue to unravel, a recent rumor has suggested that a female villain will be a part of the upcoming sequel. Speculations indicate that the fourth installment in the Tom Holland-led franchise will feature a new adversary for the wall-crawler, who will be played by someone other than Sadie Sink. While Marvel has yet to share any official word on the rumor, fans have theorized that the news could be about the character Black Cat.

Black Cat speculated to be Spider-Man 4’s villain by Marvel fans

Renowned internet scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently posted online that an actress has already been cast as an undisclosed villain in the upcoming Spider-Man 4. Their update read,

“Spider-Man 4 will have a FEMALE main villain. It’s NOT Sadie Sink. They already have someone cast. Announcement imminent.”

Many fans have since theorized that the character mentioned in the post could be none other than Black Cat. The fan-favorite character came very close to making her big screen debut in the Amazing Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield. Felicity Jones briefly appeared as Felicia Hardy in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but did not transition into her alter-ego before Sony pulled the plug on the film series.

These new rumors come after Sadie Sink reportedly joined the cast of Tom Holland’s next Spider-Man movie. While the Stranger Things star’s role in Spider-Man 4 remains a secret at the time of writing, she will not be appearing in the film as Black Cat, according to MyTimeToShineHello’s recent post. Sink recently commented on rumors that suggested she had been cast as Jean Grey in the movie.

However, neither Marvel Studios nor Sony have yet come out to confirm any of these casting rumors for Spider-Man 4. Furthermore, the film, initially scheduled for a July 24, 2026 release, will now be hitting theatres on July 31, 2026.
