Actress Amber Midthunder has recently shared a disappointing update regarding the release date of Prey 2, which is the sequel of her 2022 movie. Directed by 10 Cloverfield Lane fame Dan Trachtenberg, Prey served as a prequel to the Predator film franchise and was highly praised by critics and fans. Amber Midthunder doesn’t know what’s happening with Prey 2
The Novocaine star recently sat down for an interview, where she talked about Prey 2.
Collider’s Meredith Loftus asked Amber Midthunder whether she could share details regarding the development of Prey 2. However, the actress stated that she was clueless about the project’s current status. She said, “I don’t know what’s happening. I genuinely don’t. I also want to do another one. I would be happy to do another one.”
However, Midthunder shared her admiration for Dan Trachtenberg and expressed her desire to play the character of Naru again. She stated, “I love that world, I love that character, and I think that there’s some fun ideas out there that I’ve heard that are very cool. I’m really excited. Whatever Dan does, I will always be his fan.” The Legion star also shared that she is excited to witness what Trachtenberg will do with Predator: Badlands, which is scheduled for a 2025 release.
While talking about Badlands with Empire in 2024, Trachtenberg said that the Predator itself will be “front and centre” of the movie and take charge. He also described the process of writing the character of Predator as “challenging”. The director further stated that he wants the audience to connect with him and “also super-intimidated by.”
According to Deadline, Prey 2 is currently in the initial development stages and will have Amber Midthunder reprising her role.
