Snow White’s Early Reactions Praise Rachel Zegler’s Performance & Musical Numbers

Snow White has premiered to strong early reactions, with many praising the visuals and performances. Critics and early viewers highlighted the film’s ability to recapture the magic of the original while introducing new elements to the story.

Snow White’s early reactions say ‘Rachel Zegler was born to play a princess’

Disney’s live-action Snow White’s initial reactions are in favor of the film. One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Rachel Zegler was born to play a princess.”

Variety’s Katcy Stephan wrote, “Rachel Zegler is a shining supernova in Snow White, beautifully embodying the graceful, gentle nature of the OG Disney princess. It’s a visual feast with show-stopping new musical numbers and, of course, dozens of enchanting animated animals.”

Paul Klein of Filmhounds said, “I may regret saying this but Snow White is solid. I really enjoyed the musical numbers, particularly the opening one and the Queen’s evil bop. Zegler was great in the lead role, and Gadot was fun. It’s really the CGI dwarves that let the film down. The choice is baffling.”

Christopher Mills of Christopher Rates It wrote, “The biggest surprise of 2025 is that the most ‘controversial’ and hated film of the year is actually a decent live-action movie.” He further wrote, “#SnowWhite is not only one of their best live-action remakes in years, but it’s also a movie that recaptures the magic of the 1937 movie.” He added, “Rachel Zegler IS Snow White, and she delivers such a magical performance.”

Ash Crossan of ScreenRant stated, “Despite the bob being all over the place, #SnowWhite is quite charming! The message lands well, the critters are adorable, and Rachel Zegler and her enchanting voice are stunning.”

However, Carl Kaka from Future of the Force wrote, “While Gal Gadot is great as the Evil Queen, #SnowWhite isn’t a great remake of the animated classic. Rachel Zegler is a poor Snow White, the changes to the story and lyrics are awful, some special effects are not that special and the film didn’t land for me. A huge shame.”

Snow White opens in theaters on March 21, 2025.
