After much speculation, the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie has received an official release date from its creators. The fan-favorite anime, which has so far spawned 63 episodes and a few additional compilations, is set to enter the final arc of its small-screen run and will do so in the form of a movie trilogy. As such, fans have been waiting for an update regarding the release of the first Infinity Castle flick ever since the Hashira Training arc in the series concluded in June 2024. Now, the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba team has finally attached a July 2025 premiere date for the debut of the Infinity Castle movie in Japan.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle hits Japanese theaters in July 2025
As revealed in the Corps Gathering event held on March 1, the much-awaited Infinity Castle film will hit the Japanese big screens on July 18, 2025.
Nevertheless, the said event failed to disclose other international release dates for the first Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie. Recent rumors have suggested that the animated feature could have its theatrical premiere in the US and other parts of Europe sometime around September 2025. Nevertheless, the Demon Slayer creators have yet to share an official word regarding the film’s global release schedule.
According to Crunchyroll, the Corps Gathering event also confirmed the re-release of 2020’s Mugen Train, the other canonical feature-length outing in the series. The Haruo Sotozaki-helmed project will come out in Japan with a 4K remaster on May 9, five weeks prior to the release date of the upcoming Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle movie. Meanwhile, the remainder of the anime will also receive special screenings each other week, starting from April 4.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba revolves around the escapades of Tanjiro, a teenage boy who strives to become a demon hunter after a personal tragedy. Fans last got to see Tanjiro and his friends as they ventured into the Infinity Castle, the headquarters of Muzan Kibutsuji, alongside his Hashira allies.
