1923 Season 2’s Brandon Sklenar on if Season 3 Will Happen

Brandon Sklenar recently spoke about his knowledge of the future of 1923 and whether the series could be returning for Season 3.

Season 2 of 1923 debuted on streaming platform Paramount+ on Sunday, February 23, 2025. The highly acclaimed series serves as a prequel to the popular Western drama show Yellowstone, which aired its final season in 2024.

The It Ends With Us actor recently appeared for an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where he discussed the season and its ending. While Sklenar avoided giving spoilers, he shared his thoughts about whether 1923 could return for Season 3.

1923 Season 2 is going to focus on Sklenar’s character Spencer Dutton trying to reunite with his love Alex, played by Julia Schlaepfer, and saving his family ranch.

During the chat, the interviewer mentioned that 1923 was predicted to last just two seasons and asked Sklenar if he had information about the ending from the start. The actor responded, “They haven’t confirmed if it’s stopping here at season two, but I knew before we left to shoot season one ultimately where this was going.”

In another question, Sklenar was asked whether Season 2’s ending will lead 1923 into Season 3. In response, he remained vague about the possible future of the series but asserted, “This story is going to continue one way or another, and I honestly don’t know. But there’s more Dutton story to be told for sure.”

However, there has not yet been an announcement regarding the renewal of 1923 for Season 3 from either Paramount Pictures or creator Taylor Sheridan.

1923 Season 2 is set to release its remaining episodes weekly. In addition to Sklenar, the show’s ensemble features stars like Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Michelle Randolph, and Aminah Nievas, among others.
