Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley being considered for Spider-Man 4, rumor states

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), industry scooper @MyTimeToShineHello wrote, “Marvel is considering Daisy Ridley for a role in Spider-Man 4.” While there is no confirmation on which character she might play, fans have speculated that she could portray Black Cat.

Ridley recently expressed her openness to joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While promoting her film Cleaner, she told ComicBook, “Look, I’m open to loads of stuff. I work with this amazing second AD called Matthew Sharp, and he texts me cause he’s doing Avengers, and he goes, ‘If they call.’ So I was like, ‘If they call, absolutely.’” She also said, “I’m a fan of so many sorts of films. Yeah, I’m open to everything.”

Ridley is best known for her role as Rey Skywalker in Star Wars, and Lucasfilm has confirmed her return in an upcoming film focused on rebuilding the Jedi Order. The project has undergone several script changes, with George Nolfi taking over after Steven Knight left in October 2024. The film was officially announced at Star Wars Celebration Europe 2023.

Meanwhile, Spider-Man 4 is rumored to introduce a fresh approach to the character. According to insider Daniel Richtman, the film will be a “new take” on Spider-Man, featuring a different supporting cast. Zendaya’s role is expected to be limited, and Peter Parker will reportedly be in college.

In an interview with Deadline in April 2024, Tom Holland said, “We have the best in the business working toward whatever the story might be. But until we’ve cracked it, we have a legacy to protect.” The film’s script has undergone multiple rewrites, with Marvel and Sony reportedly shifting focus to a more grounded story while still incorporating Multiversal elements.
