X-Men Rumor: Margaret Qualley Could Be Marvel’s Rogue

Marvel Studios is reportedly considering Margaret Qualley for the role of Rogue in its upcoming X-Men reboot. Although officials have not confirmed the news, insider sources claim her name is in the mix. As Marvel builds its new X-Men universe, speculation about casting iconic mutants continues to grow.

Margaret Qualley rumored to be eyed for Marvel’s Rogue in X-Men reboot

Jeff Sneider on The Hot Mic podcast stated, “Miss Margaret Qualley, hot off The Substance, is among that group of young rising stars studios want to be in business with.” He added that Qualley recently signed on to a Disney 20th Century Studios project and is on Marvel’s radar for Rogue. He noted, “X-Men’s not gonna go until next year.”

No director is currently attached to the X-Men reboot. Sneider mentioned, “Every time I do an X-Men story, I get inundated with people in the industry who are like, ‘Who’s casting this movie? There’s no director on it.’”

He indicated that Marvel is likely assembling its cast, with various names surfacing. Sneider confirmed, “I’ve heard names surface,” including Qualley’s, though the extent of her involvement remains unclear.

Harris Dickinson and Jack Champion are rumored to play Cyclops, with Sadie Sink likely as Jean Grey. Ayo Edebiri and DeWanda Wise are on the radar for Storm. Hunter Schafer is linked to Mystique, and Julia Butters to Kitty Pryde. Sneider also referenced reports that Denzel Washington might play Magneto, stating, “Last week, we reported that Denzel Washington might be set to play the villain.”

Michael Lesslie is reportedly in talks with Marvel Studios to pen the script for the film. Sneider and co-host Rocha speculated on the film’s release. Rocha said, “The big unspoken secret in Hollywood is that the movie will release 2-3 months after Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027.” Sneider added, “I feel it will be more like 5-6 months after Secret Wars.”
