On February 14, 2025, @MyTimeToShineHello sparked fan speculation on X (formerly Twitter) by posting that Marvel is considering Jennifer Lopez for a major role. Many fans quickly suggested she could portray Karla Sofen, also known as Moonstone.
Kat Coiro, director of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, shared her desire to see Lopez in the MCU. In an interview with Tara Hitchcock, Coiro stated, “Oh, well, my dream is to bring J-Lo into the MCU, so… Put that out there.” Coiro, who worked with Lopez on the 2022 film ‘Marry Me,’ said in an interview with Hindustan Times, “One of the brilliant things about working for Marvel is that you get any actor you want.”
During an interaction with SlashFilm, Coiro also acknowledged the MCU’s efforts to promote strong female characters, saying, “The MCU has done such a great job of bringing female characters to the forefront.” She further added, “And I think this is just part of that evolution and that step.” The director continued, “My dream is that they aren’t called ‘female superheroes’ anymore.”
Jennifer Lopez has enjoyed a successful career spanning over four decades, starring in a wide range of films, including the Netflix hit The Mother (2023) and the sci-fi film Atlas (2024). Her extensive filmography and action experience fuel excitement for her potential MCU debut.
