The first teaser trailer for M3GAN 2.0 is finally out, teasing the introduction of a new doll in the sci-fi/horror franchise.
Directed by Gerard Johnstone, M3GAN 2.0 is the sequel to the 2023 movie M3GAN. Along with a first look at the new version of M3GAN, producers also disclosed the synopsis and release date of the upcoming film.

The teaser trailer for M3GAN 2.0 sets the stage for the next chapter for the titular AI doll. The teaser starts with her slowly walking in the light and breaking into her famous dance from the first movie. As she grooves on singer Chappell Roan’s hit song “Femininomenon,” the cameras close in on M3GAN who addressed the audience by asking, “Miss me?” She further winks at the camera, after which the title card appears and the release date of the movie is unveiled.
M3GAN 2.0 is scheduled to hit theaters on June 27, 2025. Following its debut at the Grammy Awards, the teaser trailer was later posted on YouTube by Universal Pictures. Apart from giving a first look at M3GAN, producers have also teased that a new AI doll is entering the mix. In a press release, they released a synopsis for the second movie which mentions a new doll.
The synopsis reads, “Two years after M3GAN, a marvel of artificial intelligence, went rogue and embarked on a murderous rampage and was subsequently destroyed, M3GAN’s creator Gemma has become a high-profile author and advocate for government oversight of A.I. Meanwhile, Gemma’s niece Cady, now 14, has become a teenager, rebelling against Gemma’s overprotective rules. Unbeknownst to them, the underlying tech for M3GAN has been stolen and misused by a powerful defense contractor to create a military-grade weapon known as Amelia, the ultimate killer infiltration spy. But as Amelia’s self-awareness increases, she becomes decidedly less interested in taking orders from humans.”
As per the synopsis, the movie will revolve around Gemma, played by Allison Williams, making the tough call to “resurrect M3GAN and give her a few upgrades.” Thus, bringing her face-to-face with Amelia.
