A recent rumor has suggested that Ghost Rider may finally be making his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Avengers: Doomsday. The long-running franchise has already introduced several new characters in the Multiverse saga and is rumored to be introducing many more in the next Avengers movie.
A fan-favorite character, Ghost Rider has already appeared on the big screen in two standalone films produced by Marvel Entertainment outside of the MCU, and the character also appeared in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. As the MCU prepares to introduce more well-known characters that previously had movie deals, like the Fantastic Four and the X-Men, Ghost Rider may also be brought into the fold.
Ghost Rider rumored for Avengers: Doomsday, but no actor is cast yet
According to popular internet scooper @ApocHorseman, Marvel is actively planning to include the Spirit of Vengeance in the much-awaited Avengers 5.
In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, Apocalyptic Horseman stated, “I see a lot of talk about Ghost Rider and yeah it’s actually happening. No idea about a solo project or Midnight Sons or which Ghost Rider it is but the plan is to introduce him in a big role in [Avengers] Doomsday.”
Though there has been no official word on Ghost Rider joining the MCU, Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum has stated in the past that he “would wanna do the Danny Ketch era of Ghost Rider.”
Nicolas Cage portrayed Johnny Blaze in both of the Ghost Rider movies produced by Marvel Entertainment with Columbia Pictures. Gabriel Luna took on the role of Robbie Reyes in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, and portrayed a different kind of Ghost Rider from the one seen in the movies. If the rumors are true, then fans could get to see a new version of Ghost Rider in 2026’s Avengers: Doomsday.
