Fans of the South Korean action drama Bloodhounds have much to rave about now, as the show has officially been renewed for Season 2. The Netflix series revolves around the misadventures of two up-and-coming boxers who join forces with a moneylender to end the tyranny of an exploiting usurer. The show made its small-screen debut in June 2023 and quickly garnered glaring reviews due to its captivating plot. As such, fans have been gunning for a sequel installment ever since. Their prayers have now been answered as Netflix has renewed Bloodhounds for the second season.
Netflix renews boxing K-drama Bloodhounds for Season 2
In a recent update, Netflix has officially declared the second season of the fan-favorite K-drama Bloodhounds.
Netflix conveyed the news about Bloodhounds Season 2 by issuing posts on their social media channels. Their YouTube announcement video features lead actors Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi confirming the second season. The two South Korean stars took turns to deliver the message, stating, “The long wait is over. It will be worth your wait. Bloodhounds Season 2, only on Netflix.” The duo then struck a boxing pose and reiterated Netflix’s iconic tagline, “Tudum!”
Netflix’s post on X (formerly Twitter) also relayed that renowned actor Jung Ji-hoon will be joining the cast of Bloodhounds Season 2. Ji-hoon has been confirmed to portray the villainous Baek-jeong, the leader of an underground boxing league. According to Lifestyle Asia, the first script reading session took place the same day as Bloodhounds Season 2 was renewed.
Despite the confirmation, little is known regarding the plot of the much-awaited sequel to Bloodhounds. Moreover, the sequel edition also does not have an official release date as of yet. That being said, Bloodhounds Season 2 is widely expected to come out on Netflix sometime in 2025.
