Rumor: The Mandalorian & Grogu’s Villain Will Be a Returning Clone Wars Character

While details about the story of The Mandalorian & Grogu continue to be kept under wraps, it seems the movie’s main villain may have been revealed. The project was originally envisioned as The Mandalorian Season 4 but ultimately transitioned into a feature-length film. Ever since the feature-length project was announced, fans have been speculating as to what the plot of the film might entail. While none of them have received official confirmation as of yet, it appears that we finally know who will serve as the film’s main antagonist.

Dave Filoni rumored to voice Embo in The Mandalorian & Grogu

According to movie reviewer Kristian Harloff, the enigmatic bounty hunter Embo will act as the villain in The Mandalorian & Grogu. The internet scooper has also claimed that Lucasfilm’s current chief creative officer, and former Star Wars: The Clone Wars showrunner, Dave Filoni will return to voice the character.

The Fandango correspondent disclosed the update on the latest episode of The Kristian Harloff Show on YouTube. In the video, he claimed, “Embo is coming back. He was voiced by Dave Filoni [in Star Wars: The Clone Wars], he’ll be voiced by Dave Filoni again. He is basically the big bad in this story from what I’m hearing.”

As per Harloff’s comments, Dave Filoni’s Embo will be seen pursuing Jeremy Allen White’s Rotta the Hutt. Meanwhile, Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian and his partner in crime, Grogu, will seemingly serve as hired protectors for Rotta. If this theory turns out to be true, Embo may be The Mandalorian & Grogu’s primary antagonist.

Embo is a Kyuzo male bounty hunter who was allied with multiple groups throughout the Clone Wars. He is known to wield a bow caster alongside his signature weapon, a large-rimmed circular hat. Embo’s collaborations include operations with the Hutt Clans, Boba Fett’s Krayt’s Claw, as well as Asajj Ventress. At one point, Embo even went toe to toe with Anakin Skywalker. He ultimately embraced retirement and began working as a common farmer following the Battle of Jakku.

However, the latest rumors seem to indicate that Embo could ditch his peaceful life to act as The Mandalorian & Grogu’s villain. The project is currently in development and is slated to be released in theatres on May 22, 2026.
