Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Hints at Deadpool & Wolverine’s Return

According to a recent rumor, Deadpool and Wolverine might return to feature in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Avengers: Doomsday.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit screens worldwide in 2026. While the sequel is expected to have a huge cast of stars, Marvel has yet to confirm the full details. Previously, it was reported that Chris Evans will come back for Avengers: Doomsday, however, details regarding his role are under wraps. Robert Downey Jr. will also be returning to the MCU to play the iconic villain Doctor Doom.

Deadpool and Wolverine could return in Avengers: Doomsday

According to Hollywood scooper Daniel Richtman, Deadpool and Wolverine will be appearing in the MCU again in the 2026 movie Avengers: Doomsday. However, this is just a rumor and nothing has been officially confirmed by Marvel.

Richtman recently released his newsletter on Patreon where he stated, “I hear Deadpool and Wolverine will have a role in Doomsday.” The scooper didn’t reveal any other details regarding this. Additionally, he provided a scoop for Spider-Man 4, asserting that the plans for the movie are “more grounded.”

With many superheroes set to come together to face Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday, fans have been speculating on who else could be making a return to the franchise. However, neither Hugh Jackman nor Ryan Reynolds have confirmed that they will be returning for the movie.

In a November 2024 interview with Variety on their Awards Circuit Podcast, Reynolds was asked whether he would return as Deadpool in Doomsday. However, the actor didn’t reveal anything and said, “I’m not even being cagey. We’ll see what happens there.”

Reynolds also previously spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about Deadpool potentially appearing in Avengers: Doomsday. At that time, he stated that there were no updates on the movie yet but asserted, “I trust Kevin and Lou D’Esposito [a filmmaker and Marvel executive producer] with my life. Deadpool works so well appearing with the X-Men and Avengers.”
