An industry insider recently revealed a new rumor that actress Ana de Armas might join the cast of Avengers: Doomsday in a mystery role. However, Marvel Studios has not yet commented on the rumor. Avengers: Doomsday is set for a release in 2026, and will see actor Robert Downey Jr. return to the MCU as the iconic supervillain Doctor Doom.
Ana de Armas could play a key role in Avengers: Doomsday
According to a recent report by industry insider Daniel Richtman, Ana de Armas is rumored to have an unknown role in the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Avengers: Doomsday. Richtman revealed that the rumor came from a friend.
He made a post on his Patreon in which he mentioned that he stumbled upon a “hot rumor” that isn’t from a source who is from “a casting grid but rather a friend of a friend.” He noted, “That said, this friend of a friend claims Ana de Armas is in talks for a role in Avengers: Doomsday.” Furthermore, Richtman asserted that if the rumor of Armas joining the Avengers: Doomsday cast is true then it will be “pretty thrilling.”
There has been no official confirmation from Marvel on this rumor yet.
Recently, a source revealed to The Wrap that as well as Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, who played the role of Steve Rogers in the Marvel Cinematic Universe until Avengers: Endgame, will also return to the franchise Avengers: Doomsday. So, if Ana de Armas does feature in the upcoming Avengers movie, then it will be a reunion for her and Evans also, as they previously co-starred in the 2023 movie Ghosted.
Armas is currently preparing for her debut in the John Wick universe with her movie Ballerina. The upcoming action movie will be out in theatres on June 6, 2025.
