Blackpink’s Jennie sat down for a new edition of Vogue’s “Well, Well, Well,” and got candid about her experience with cold plunging. The singer recalled she started the activity a few years back while working on her body after “hours of rehearsing for tour.” Jennie noted the “sauna culture is really big” in South Korea, so she visited the sauna “like every single day” and did the cold plunge afterward since it felt “natural” to her.

She recalled the first time she tried cold plunging. Although she “freaked out a little bit,” she immediately felt the soreness and tightness in her body “went away.” Blackpink’s Jennie said, “Maybe because it was the first time, I just had this instant boost in my mood and an overall emotional relief.” She added, “It’s like a reset button for your body.”

The star continued to do a cold plunge, showcasing how she prepared her body and let go of her anxiety before entering the icy water. This involved Jennie doing jumping exercises to get her blood flowing and working on her breathing. Despite the pain upon entering the water, the K-pop star shared she reminds herself to be calm and breathe through the time limit she set for herself.

Blackpink’s Jennie revealed she turned to cold plunging to recover after many performances and tours. “I was overworking my body and every night I would go to sleep in pain,” the “SOLO” singer admitted. “I couldn’t figure out how to treat myself when I was in these situations where my muscles were tightened up.” She further shared how cold plunging taught her “to embrace tension” and “push through challenges” in her personal and professional life.
