Ella Emhoff urges people to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in powerful note
Kamala Harris‘ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, one of the two kids she shares with her husband, Doug Emhoff, voted early and later dropped a powerful note on her Instagram. Emhoff, who previously supported her stepmother during the 2020 elections campaigning, urged people to vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The post is a photo of a white knitted product featuring the American flag with the text “I Voted.”
In the caption, Emhoff first posed the question, “Have you voted yet?” She added a second question, “Have you checked in to see if your friends and family have voted?” before notifying followers about early voting. She wrote, “Early voting closes today for many states ( New York being one of them ).”
Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter then appealed to registered voters to cast their votes. “Vote for the future you want and the change you want to see,” she stated. The 25-year-old also reminded others how their votes matter and how these elections affect everyone. “If this election doesn’t impact you ( which at this point it affects us all around the world ) vote for the people it does,” she said.
Ella Emhoff concluded the compelling note by stating, “We need to protect our rights, our planet, and our communities.” Lastly, she asserted that “there is only one option for any positive change and that’s Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.”
Kamala Harris’ husband has two kids from his previous marriage — Cole and Ella Emhoff. Cole Emhoff, 30, graduated from Colorado College in 2017 and now works with Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment. Meanwhile, Ella attended the Parsons School of Design in NYC and graduated in 2021.
Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, first met in 2013 and tied the knot a year later. Emhoff and his ex-wife, Kerstin Emhoff, remained together for 16 years before divorcing in 2010.
