After previously announcing the release date as November 1, the producer decided to hold it off and let Payne’s family and friends mourn the singer’s untimely death. According to E! News, Pounds shared a brief snippet of the track on Instagram, featuring an audio recording sent by the late singer. However, the clip has since been deleted.

On Tuesday, producer Sam Pounds announced on X that he was holding off on releasing his duet song, “Do No Wrong,” with late singer Liam Payne. Leaving the liberties to Payne’s family members, Pounds noted that he would like all the proceeds to go to a charity or “however they desire.” The producer also expressed his hope that the song will reach fans in the future.
Pounds said, “We are all still mourning the passing of Liam and I want the family to mourn [sic] in peace and in prayer. We will all wait.” The announcement comes after the producer disclosed November 1 as the initial release date for Payne’s posthumous track. In the now-deleted tweet, Pounds hoped to gift the song to the world as a “blessing.” He hoped the song would comfort Payne’s family, including his 7-year-old son Bear and sister Ruth Gibbins.
Sam Pounds was one among the millions of fans and celebrities who paid tribute to Liam Payne after his death. On Instagram, the producer shared snippets of his time with the late singer. Pounds noted that he would remember Payne as a “talented brother, father, and friend.” Furthermore, he expressed his condolences to the former One Direction member’s family. He ended the tribute recalling their time making “awesome and beautiful music together.”
Liam Payne passed away on October 16 after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The One Direction alum was 31. He released his last song “Teardrops” in March this year.
