Kamala Harris Agreed To Be on Joe Rogan’s Podcast, but He Turned Her Down, Here’s Why

After weeks of predictions that she’d appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast, Kamala Harris finally agreed to be on it. However, Rogan turned her down after his team and the Harris campaign couldn’t reach an agreement about several aspects of the interview.

Kamala Harris may yet appear on The Joe Rogan Experience

In a post on X, Joe Rogan explained that the Harris campaign had offered an interview, but there were stipulations to it that he couldn’t meet. Instead of Harris coming to the Joe Rogan Experience studio in Austin, TX, they requested that he go to her. She also only wanted to do an hour instead of the standard two-and-a-half to three hours that Rogan typically spends with his guests.

However, there’s still a chance Kamala Harris might appear on The Joe Rogan Experience. Rogan stated that the Harris campaign hasn’t definitively passed on doing the podcast, and he hopes an agreement can still be reached to have her on the show.

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience last week for a three-hour interview. Since then, the episode has already accumulated 38 million views.

Many see passing up an opportunity to appear on Rogan’s invitation as a mistake for Harris. He hosts the most popular podcast in the United States, and its primary audience is young men, whom Harris is struggling to gain support with.

Political strategists argue that appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast could offer Harris a unique platform to connect with a demographic critical to her campaign. By joining the long-form, unfiltered format, she would have an opportunity to address policy issues in depth and possibly challenge some misconceptions about her.

Some Democrats see Rogan’s audience as an untapped resource and believe reaching out through popular media figures like Rogan could help the campaign in key swing states. However, there’s not much time left until the election, and Harris may see an interview with Rogan as potentially doing more harm than good.
