Here’s Why Taylor Swift Said No to Dynamic Pricing for Eras Tour Tickets

AEG Presents Chairperson and CEO Jay Marciano revealed Taylor Swift refused to “dynamically price” her Eras Tour tickets. Notably, AEG promoted the record-breaking Eras Tour. In a recent interview with HITS Daily Double, Marciano opened up about his experience working with Swift and discussed the “success of the Eras Tour,” which happens to be the most successful tour in music history. Furthermore, the entertainment industry executive compared the Grammy winner to The Beatles, claiming her work is a “phenomenon in that category.”

AEG Presents’ Jay Marciano reveals why Taylor Swift didn’t want changes in ticket prices

AEG Present’s Jay Marciano told the publication that Taylor Swift had the “opportunity to dynamically price” the Eras Tour tickets. However, Marciano disclosed that Swift refused the dynamic pricing option because “she didn’t want to do that to her fans.” The CEO and chairperson claimed that Swift particularly mentioned, “No dynamic pricing,” which he opined “other artists wouldn’t contemplate doing.”

Marciano explained how Taylor Swift’s refusal to “dynamically price” her Eras Tour tickets could “potentially cut into her income.” He claimed the 34-year-old musician was looking at “a long-term view of her career.” Nonetheless, Marciano added, “That long-term view applied to every decision she made throughout the tour.” According to him, Swift over-delivered her shows and production and refused to “overcharge on the merchandise.”

The executive praised Swift for dominating the music industry and redefining herself as a “global superstar” through her Eras Tour. In addition, Marciano commended the “Fortnite” singer for not missing even a single show. Further emphasizing this statement, he added, “Think about that—150 stadium shows,” and clarified that Swift only canceled the three Vienna shows due to a “security risk.”

Finally, Jay Marciano categorized Swift and her Eras Tour success to The Beatles’ achievements. “It’s a phenomenon in that category,” Marciano mentioned while highlighting that he has been in showbiz for decades but has “never seen anything like it” and “may never see anything like it again.”

Taylor Swift will perform her three final Eras Tour shows in the U.S. from November 1 to November 3 in Indianapolis, with ticket prices ranging above $2000, as per the New York Post. The final leg of the tour will take place in Canada starting mid-November and will conclude on December 8 with one final show in Vancouver, British Columbia.
