Anna Kendrick tells Stephen Colbert about her first mushroom experience
During her “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” appearance, Anna Kendrick recalled her mushroom experience. The 39-year-old shared she went to a party with her “Pitch Perfect” co-star Brittany Snow last year. Kendrick revealed that at the party, someone asked if she wanted to try “microdosing mushrooms.”
Kendrick continued, “I was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I’m fun.'” She then joked, “That’s how you know you’re fun when you have to say it out loud.” The actor explained to Colbert they were “like chocolate bars and everybody takes a square.” Following that, Kendrick shared she wanted to be safe and decided to chop the “microdose” and just take half of it.
She continued to recall the experience and shared what she “learned” that night. “Chocolate is not a great delivery system for mushrooms because sometimes it doesn’t mix properly,” said Kendrick. The actor added, “Sometimes there can be one little bite that doesn’t have a microdose, it has a real macrodose.” Anna Kendrick told Stephen Colbert she was “getting so high” after trying mushrooms for the first time.
Kendrick recalled she started saying, “Oh no, oh I’m so high, oh god, I’m so high,” and added that she couldn’t stop saying it. She then recalled Snow’s reaction, who said, “Oh, my god. One of my best friends is just tripping balls at a party.” Kendrick shared that Snow felt she “abandoned her to this trip on her own.” Kendrick continued, “Brittany, like a hero, just took a bunch more mushrooms,” in an attempt to meet the level.
Afterward, Kendrick shared that she and Snow were “grinning like the Joker while streaming tears.” However, the actor noted they “felt great” and continued complimenting each other.
