While recalling his appearance at “Battle of the Billionaires” in Wrestlemania 23, the former president didn’t shy away from heaping praise on the retired wrestling legend.
Trump highlighted The Undertaker’s qualities as an entertainer before asking about Calaway’s height. The former wrestler revealed that he has been “a little bit compressed,” which brought him to a 6’8″. The presidential nominee then mentioned that his son was an inch taller before proceeding to discuss the WWE wrestler’s weight.
The Undertaker replied that he “topped out” at 330 lbs. When Trump enquired further about his current weight, he revealed that he is currently at 305 lbs. The former president then got curious about how wrestling rings could absorb the impact of a wrestler getting “slammed around.” The WWE champion mentioned that wrestlers just condition their bodies to the ring’s hard surface.
As the discussion proceeded, Trump asked The Undertaker about a situation when wrestlers would get personal about a wrong move from the opponent. The former wrestler reminisced about a time in the 80s when “guys were really salty.” While he mentioned that the aspect of professional-turning-personal would still make the show, an athlete may end up “losing their job.”
The Undertaker then compared the situation with politics, saying, “You don’t have to like each other, but you have to be professional enough to work with each other.” Meanwhile, Trump’s curiosity led to questions about the wrestler’s long-standing career, injuries sustained, and the intensity of the sport.
