Football fans want to know the latest Jayden Daniels rib injury update after the Washington Commanders quarterback was taken out of the Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers. In the first quarter, Daniels attempted to block Panthers safety Lonnie Johnson Junior and was tackled from behind by linebacker Marquis Haynes, causing him to grab his left side in the next play. After being ruled out of the match, he was replaced by Marcus Mariota who won the game 40-7. Fortunately, a preliminary test on Daniels’ injury reportedly has good news for his recovery.
What is the latest Jayden Daniels rib injury update?
Initial tests on Jayden Daniels’ injury reveal that his ribs have “no fractures,” though more tests will need to be performed to show the full extent of the injury.
This is according to Jordan Schultz, an NFL insider for FOX Sports, reporting on X (formerly Twitter) about tests performed on Sunday based on anonymous sources.
This follows similar remarks made by Commanders head coach Dan Quinn who sad that he had “no update” on the quarterback’s injury and would need to wait for further tests results on Monday to understand how hurt Daniels is, per ESPN. A quick update from Daniels’ mother on Sunday said that “he’s fine” in a post on X.
Multiple sources said that the X-rays done on his rib injury showed that the quarterback was okay. It is unclear, though, what kind of injury caused him to sit out for an entire game and slam his helmet on the ground in frustration on the sidelines.
Mariota stated that the recovery for Daniels is “going to take some time, whatever it is.” This comes after he suffered an injury as well, recovering from a strained pectoral muscle that forced him out of the first four games of the season.
The next match for the Washington Commanders will be against the Chicago Bears on October 27, followed by a game against the New York Giants on November 3 and the Pittsburgh Steelers on November 10.
