For her Vogue interview, Blackpink member Rose made the popular Korean food kimchi fried rice and paired it with some somaek. She used the Cheongyang chili pepper and combined it with mayo to create the delicious cheongyang sauce. The K-pop artist revealed her unique obsession with cilantro and confessed to pairing that ingredient with almost everything.

Rose revealed that her choice of cilantro might be a bit controversial. She said, “‘Cause I’m sure there’s a lot of people who hate cilantro, but I think I’m a bit weird though. This is my own thing.” She then added some cilantro to the sauce only to mark her seal of approval.

The singer reflected on her collaboration with Bruno Mars for the single “APT.” came about. The latter came to perform in Seoul, South Korea, when Rose attended his concert and became his fan. Eventually, the two artists had a meeting when she recalled how Mars “jumped on the song and had all these crazy ideas for it.” Meanwhile, the single was released on October 18 and instantly became a viral sensation for its catchy lyrics and music. As of this writing, the official music video has over 70 million views.

Rose’s fried kimchi rice recipe includes kimchi, spam, gochujang (chili paste), olive oil, eggs, and rice. She also added some sugar at the end — an ingredient that she incorporated into the recipe even though her mother told her not to. Meanwhile, the Blackpink member revealed that her upcoming album, “Rosie,” is a reflection of the past few years of her life and the stories she has kept within herself. Moreover, the album’s name is derived from the nickname that her close friends and family affectionately call her.

Rose added a “whole size of cilantro” with her finished kimchi fried rice and said, “Cilantro makes everything beautiful.” She also revealed her well-kept secret of someday opening a cilantro farm after retirement and calling it, “The Cilantro Farm.”

Meanwhile, fans can check out the singer’s studio album Rosie, which will release on December 6.
