Liam Payne Death: X Factor’s Sharon Osbourne Says ‘We Let You Down’

Former “X Factor” judge Sharon Osbourne says her “heart aches” in an emotional tribute following Liam Payne‘s tragic death. Osbourne, who was a judge on the reality show from 2004 to 2007, claims, “We all let you down,” targeting the music industry in her Instagram post for Payne. The former One Direction member, whose career began in 2010 on “X Factor,” died after falling from a third-floor balcony in a Buenos Aires hotel in Argentina.

Sharon Osbourne calls out the music industry in her heartbreaking tribute to Liam Payne, whose unfortunate death has made global headlines. Osbourne wrote on Instagram, “Liam, my heart aches. We all let you down.” She then criticizes the music industry, asking where they were when Payne “needed them.” Osbourne recalls the late singer being “a kid” when he got his exposure in “one of the toughest industries in the world.” She added, “Who was in your corner? Rest in peace my friend @liampayne”

Commenters promptly noted the honesty in Sharon Osbourne’s tribute to Liam Payne. One user wrote, “This is probably the most honest thing anyone could say. A lot of respect. So sad.” Another pointed out how this has “always” been “the case,” adding, “There is never anyone before and then it’s too late.” Meanwhile, several others criticized the TV personality, with one comment stating, “You don’t like the industry but you love being part of it.”

Sharon Osbourne joined “X Factor” as judge of the first three seasons after it premiered in 2004. However, she left the show when Liam Payne first appeared in 2008. He was 14 years old at the time and made a comeback two years later, which then launched his and four other teenagers’ music careers. Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan came to the show’s 7th season individually but left united as One Direction. The record-breaking boy band eventually launched the five teenagers into stardom.

Liam Payne’s former bandmates have each paid tributes to their fallen “brother” and also released a joint statement on One Direction‘s official Instagram.
