Former KKK Leader David Duke Gives a Presidential Endorsement You Wouldn’t Expect

Former KKK leader and Louisiana state representative David Duke has given his endorsement for the 2024 presidential elections, and it’ll probably surprise most. Duke, who is mostly treated as a curiosity of a bygone era these days, advocated for Donald Trump during his 2016 campaign. However, Duke has since stated Trump isn’t antisemitic enough for his tastes and only half-heartedly endorsed him during his presidential run in 2020 before giving up on him entirely in 2024.

David Duke’s 2024 presidential endorsement goes to the Green Party

For 2024, David Duke supports Green Party candidate Jill Stein for president. According to NBC News, on his radio show, he cited her strong opposition to Israel and calls to stand up against its “genocide” as his reasons for endorsing her. Duke acknowledged that Stein is Jewish but stated, “Although Dr. Stein and I obviously have our differences on important issues, she’s the only candidate who speaks clearly against the war in the Middle East.” Duke disavows Trump for his steadfast support of Israel and alleges he’s part of a shadowy global Jewish conspiracy (which doesn’t exist), and so on.

Of course, every candidate Duke has endorsed has immediately and unequivocally rejected his approval. Stein immediately tweeted out a statement damning Duke (and taking a shot at Dick Cheney’s endorsement of Kamala Harris). In the past, Duke has also been refuted by Trump and Tulsi Gabbard.

Ironically, despite being a virulent racist and anti-semite, Duke has had more success in politics than Stein. He served a three-year term in the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1989 to 1992, during a period where he portrayed himself as a born-again Christian and claimed to reject his past antisemitism and racism. On the other hand, Stein has never come close to winning an election. Going by current polls, it doesn’t look like she’ll take the presidency in 2024, regardless of Duke’s endorsement.
