Donald Trump Called ‘A Total Fascist’ by Former US Army General

Retired US Army General Mark Milley did not mince words about Donald Trump, calling him a “fascist to the core.” In a new book called “War” written by journalist Bob Woodward, as noted by The Independent, the 66-year-old Milley explains why he believes the former president presents a danger to the United States, despite him being appointed by Trump as the 20th chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 2019.

Mark Milley blasts Trump as “the most dangerous man ever”

According to Woodward, Milley stated that “no one has even been as dangerous to this country” as Trump, during a meeting they had in March 2023 at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Milley continued, “I had suspicions when I talked to you about his mental decline and so forth, but now I realize he’s a total fascist.” Several years earlier, the US General had been a source for Woodward’s 2021 book called “Peril.”

This isn’t the first time Milley has criticized Trump, expressing concerns about Trump’s mental decline after he lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden. He stated that Trump incited “people to violence with violent rhetoric” during the infamous January 6 attack on the US Capitol. In his retirement speech in 2023 at the Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, Virginia, Milley also reportedly referred to him as a “wannabe dictator” and reminded the military audience that they “don’t take an oath to a king, or a queen, or a tyrant or a dictator.”

Since his retirement, though the former general has received “a non-stop barrage of death threats that he, at least in part, attributed to Trump’s repeated attempts to discredit him,” according to The Guardian. He also fears Trump would court-martial him and any other retired senior officers who criticized him if he were to win the 2024 presidential election over Kamala Harris.
